Refilling Canon BCI-3 / BCI-6 Cartridges
Many people report problems when refilling these cartridges.
This article is a email from a customer explaining how he refills these
cartridges with a near 100% success rate. Note the BCI-3 and BCI-6 cartridges
are physically identical and refill the same way.
First: I put a piece of electrical tape over the ink outlet.
Second :I drill a hole just large enough to except the needle.
Third: I fill the cartridge with the ink.
Fourth: I put a piece of electrical tape over the fill whole I drilled and leave the
tape on the ink outlet hole till your ready to use it.
Fifth: Remove the tape on the ink outlet & install in printer.
Sixth: When cartridge shows empty, put a piece of electrical tape over the ink outlet
hole so it will not dry out and do not remove the tape over the fill hole. I have waited a week to refill the
cartridges using this method. When ready to refill, remove tape over fill hole, fill
cartridge, and re-tape with new
piece of tape, (do not use the old piece as it will leak if you do).
Seventh: Always use fresh tape (top and bottom of cartridge), every time you
refill. I do not even use plastic gloves anymore when using this method of
refilling.
Hope this can help your customers who use your refill kits.
